Teach-Inspire-Connect are the threaded themes of the new “Fall Portrait Academy” convention, designed by the Portrait Society of America, which will be held online October 15-17, 2021.
The “Fall Portrait Academy” is an art symposium focused on portraiture and the figure that boasts nearly twenty hours of programming spread over three days and featuring 17 artists for the derisory price of $235. An appointment not to be missed that offers participants not only the extraordinary opportunity to get in touch with some of the most illustrious pictorial and sculptural artists of the contemporary American scene, but also offers the possibility to “peek” into their living spaces thanks to special virtual tours with which the artists will accompany the public inside their studios, allowing them to share their thoughts and their world.
Numerous events are proposed that will alternate with real technical lessons, moments of sharing during which the artists, part of the teaching staff, will illustrate their sources of inspiration, will teach how to enhance and focus on an idea or will continue until late in interesting artistic conversations during which they will answer questions and queries from the public. Among the scheduled virtual tours in addition to those of the artists is a visit to the iconic Palette & Chisel, founded in 1906.
Among the high-profile names appearing in the group decent at the symposium are: Anna Rose Bain, Bo Bartlett, Suchitra Bhosle, Louis Carr, Casey Childs, Rose Frantzen, Max Ginsburg, David Kassan, Pramod Kurlekar, Michael Shane Neal, Alicia Ponzio, Mary Qian, Mario Robinson, Ron Sherr, Adrienne Stein, Mary Whyte and Kristen Yann.
